Where your data meets our "Golden Rule Standard"
Who we are
We are Trident Shield, LLC and our website address is: https://tridentshield.net.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
Because our website provides access to custom online training programs and consulting documentation for organizations, schools, and individuals around the country, we must use cookies to authenticate visitors, protect our users’ privacy, safeguard our intellectual property, and ensure the best possible experience to each and every visitor. The good news is you can rest assured knowing any information we collect while you visit our site will be used ethically and strictly in the spirit of improving your experience during future visits to our site. As our sub-heading above suggests, our data philosophy at Trident Shield is pretty simple: Handle your information the way we would want our own information handled. That’s why Trident Shield will never give, sell, or otherwise divulge your information to any other third party without your expressed, written consent…ever.
Embedded content from other websites
While we genuinely care about maintaining your information privacy, it’s possible that some web pages and blog posts found on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) from and/or links to other online sources. Our preference is to make embedded content behave in a manner consistent with our cookies policy above but we cannot guarantee that result. In these instances, the user must assume any form of embedded content that originates from or links to other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Only select individuals within Trident Shield, LLC leadership will have access to the data collected on this website. For individuals who login to this website to access their employer-provided training, understand that additional individuals within your organization will have access to some of your data. These individuals have been designated as administrators (also called “Team Leads” or “Facilitators”) of your employer-provided training will have access to your name, user name, login email, login frequency, course access, course progress, course completion, course quiz/final exam results, and any elective information you choose to provide in your user profile.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username) without deleting their account and starting over. Please note: Even when you recreate a user account using the same username or email, all previously recorded data relating to that user’s training – login history, progress, completion, test results, etc. – will be lost. Website administrators (internal to Trident Shield) can also see and edit that information.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
