Trident Shield just completed an in service day with the faculty and staff at my school, Veritas Academy. I recommend Trident Shield wholeheartedly.As a Head of School, school security can feel overwhelming. Honestly, I think we could spend all of our money on security every year. Sadly, none of this spending would guarantee safety. The realm of consultants on this stuff is legion. Again, they often leave me wondering if their job is making me even more anxious and despairing, always wondering if I have done “enough.”So, I went into the training with an open mind, but with a dash of cynicism. I know that many of my busy faculty members were skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised by Jason and the Trident Shield Team and the reaction of the faculty and staff was encouraging. Here’s what Trident Shield does well:The training was imminently practical. Much of the training was on issues and processes that both gave our teachers confidence in what they can do and how they can behave to best protect their students and classroom and that cost nothing to implement.
The training helped our teachers and staff members learn how to be aware in order to prevent school violence and to mentally prepare for the possibility of that violence occuring and to have a plan about what to do and why we are doing it.
Finally, and this is for Christian schools-particularly classical Christian schools. Jason and the folks at Trident Shield are calibrated for us. They understand what is motivating us as Christians and they can tailor the training to fit our commitments. (I am sure the training is applicable and effective in any school, but it was great knowing that Jason understood us.)Trident Shield is doing more than training us. They are also reworking our All Hazards Plan. The information and training was interesting and engaging. It is not cheap, but there are a few things that are valuable. In a world of overpriced training that plays on fears and anxiety in order to yield infinite and increasing investment, Trident Shield was such an encouragement. I wholeheartedly recommend Jason and Trident Shield.

I have received many safety trainings from multiple school districts and the local police and this training was by far the most inclusive, applicable, informative, and engaging. Jason went above and beyond helping our school design a security plan tailored to fit our unique building and local area. He stayed long after our training and answered any and all questions as well as did classroom walkthroughs to help individual classrooms improve their specific strategy based on location in the building etc. While I hope I never need half of the information, I feel empowered because it was given to me in a way that I understand and apply.

As a high school teacher, I entered the Trident Shield training with no clear idea about what to do in the event of an active assailant situation. During the training, I was given a host of viable, practical things to do in an active shooter situation. Easily the most useful, helpful instruction I’ve ever received on the subject.-Joshua Gibbs-The level of training from Trident Shield is second to none. The class I was apart of had a lot of great information that I will take with me not only to my home to better protect my family, but will take with me for the remainder of my days.
